Photo: Ebonyi State First Lady calls for arrest of policewoman who allegedly poured hot water and soup on her 15-year-old househelp

A female police officer, Joy Okoshi (pictured), allegedly poured hot water on her 15-year-old
househelp identified as Chinyere Igwe in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.
It was gathered that the victim was preparing soup when Okoshi complained that she did not follow her instruction. In anger, she poured the hot pot of soup on her and later followed it with a bowl of hot water.
“I failed to follow her instruction and in anger, she came out and carried the pot of soup together with the egusi (melon) and threw at me and it landed on my back. She also carried iron and hit me on my body and ordered me to bend down and raise my leg up but I refused because my back was paining me seriously. She locked me up in a room while she went to boil water to pour on me. I pleaded with her to have mercy on me but she went inside and brought tear gas, then I started crying when she rushed to get hot water and poured on me,"Igwe said.

According to the victim, she had suffered various forms of abuse in the two years she lived with the policewoman.
“Only my mother is alive and I have been living with my madam for over two years now. This is as a result of my father’s death coupled with my mother’s financial handicap.
She added that the policewoman’s husband also hit her.
"Her husband also beat me up, but he was not aware that I had such injury because it was in the night. He later apologised and asked his wife to use honey to treat my back," Igwe said.
Meanwhile, wife of Ebonyi State governor, Mrs Rachael Umahi has called for the arrest of the officer. Umahi made the call after officials from her office and the State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development rescued the girl from the policewoman's home.
Chief Press Secretary to the governor’s wife, Donatus Owo in a statement last Saturday said the victim is receiving treatment.
“The matter has been reported to the police while the victim was taken to Police Clinic for medical treatment,’’ she said.

Leverkusen's Hakan Calhanoglu agrees terms with AC Milan after serving ban

 Image result for Hakan Calhanoglu

Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has agreed personal terms on a potential move to AC Milan after completing his four-month FIFA ban, his agent has told kicker.
Calhanoglu, 23, was given the ban in February for breach of contract after signing for Trabzonspor as a teenager but never joining the club.
The Turkey international, who waived his wages for the duration of the ban, could now be set to move on to Italy if Milan are able to agree a transfer fee.
"We held good talks with AC Milan," agent Bektas Demirtas said. "It's now important that the clubs reach an agreement. Once they achieve an agreement, we can enter final talks with AC Milan."
Kicker said Leverkusen are holding out for a transfer fee between €20 million and €30m for the Turkey international, who in 2014 joined from Hamburg for a reported transfer fee of €14.5m.

11 Ways Moms Benefit From Breastfeeding

While breastfeeding can be painful, tiring, and for some new moms, logistically or physically impossible, most experts agree that breastfeeding is the healthiest way to feed newborns up to 6 months of age. That’s because it helps protect them from infections and allergies, provides the precise ratio of nutrients their growing bodies need, and it may even reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome, according to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).Babies aren’t the only ones who benefit from breastfeeding, which appears to deliver some pretty stellar side effects to women who do it, according to research on disease outcomes among breastfeeders, which was recently published in the journal Maternal & Child Nutrition.

So, here are all the awesome ways breastfeeding is good for Y-O-U as a human, not just as a mom:

1. It reduces your risk of breast cancer. Lactation helps the breast tissue fully mature but when it never gets the chance to do so, there’s a greater increase in risk for abnormal, cancerous growths within those tissues, according to the authors of the Maternal & Child Nutrition study. It’s why every year you breastfeed reduces the risk of breast cancer by 4.3 percent, with a 7 percent lower risk for every child you have.

2. It wards off ovarian cancer. Breastfeeding suppresses ovulation, which reduces the risk of ovarian cancer, according to Melissa Bartick, MD, assistant professor of medicine at Cambridge Health Alliance in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and lead author of the Maternal & Child Nutrition study. But researchers have also found that breastfeeders end up with higher levels of special antibodies to a protein found in ovarian cancer cells. This means breastfeeding appears to build up your resistance to the disease, sort of like an immunization.

3. It burns calories like whoa. Obviously, breast milk doesn’t come out of nowhere; behind the scenes, your body actually puts a whole lot of effort into filling up your breasts with nutrient-rich milk, burning upward of 500 calories a day in the process, according to ACOG. It also improves your glucose metabolism and insulin sensitivity, which is to say it helps your body turn food into fuel. This can spark the loss of baby weight.

4. It lowers your risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. Research shows that breastfeeding increases insulin sensitivity and improves glucose metabolism in the mother, benefits that ultimately reduce the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, particularly among women who develop gestational diabetes during pregnancy, according to a 2015 study conducted by the Kaiser Permanente Division of Research.

5. It reduces your risk of high blood pressure. The same hormones your body uses to make milk (that’d be oxytocin and prolactin, for the record) have a secret superpower: They also lower your blood pressure, according to 2012 research conducted by researchers at Hirosaki University Graduate School of Health Sciences.

6. It slashes your risk of having a heart attack. "Breastfeeding affects women’s hormones and body fat in ways that keep the heart healthy, likely by ’resetting’ her body after pregnancy to restore her metabolic and cardiac health," Dr. Bartick says. There’s no pill you can pop to do that.

What's more, researchers behind a 10-year study involving 290,000 Chinese women published in Journal of the American Heart Association in 2017 found that women who breastfed had a 9 percent lower chance of developing heart disease than women who didn't breastfeed. Breastfeeding more than one child, and doing it for two years or longer, appeared to deliver even greater protective benefits, although the study only proves a correlation, not causation.

7. It shrinks your baby belly. Breastfeeding releases a hormone called oxytocin that causes the uterus, which gets stretched out during pregnancy, to return to its normal size more quickly. This perk can also put the kibosh on bleeding after birth, according to ACOG.

8. It saves you all the money. Breast milk is free, but food isn’t, and the cost of formula can amount to more than $1,700 during a baby’s first 12 months of life, according to some estimates. Some moms report spending as much as $100 per week on special formulas. It all depends on how much the baby eats and which formula brand agrees with them. Babie$, man.

9. It can reduce post-C-section pain. Researchers presenting at the 2017 Euroanaesthesia Congress in Geneva found that moms who deliver via C-section, then breastfeed for at least two months thereafter, are three times less likely to experience persistent pain at the surgical site than women who breastfeed for shorter periods of time. That's a good thing, considering about 1 in 5 C-section patients experience chronic pain lasting for more than three months - the last thing you need after surgery, which can be a blessing or a curse, depending on who you ask.

10. It may protect you from postpartum depression. Women who breastfeed are less likely to be depressed than mothers who can’t. However, "it’s not clear which comes first, breastfeeding difficulties, or depressed mood," says Alison Stuebe, MD, assistant professor of maternal fetal medicine at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. What experts do know is that breastfeeding releases oxytocin to help move milk out of the breast, reduce stress levels, and promote bonding - all good things for both moms and babies. Meanwhile, low oxytocin levels are linked to depression and can be a symptom of breastfeeding difficulties.

11. It may help you sidestep other chronic diseases down the road. While women have been breastfeeding since the beginning of time, scientists haven’t been studying its benefits for quite as long. Links to lower risk of autoimmune diseases, like rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis, are possible, according to Eleanor Bimla Schwarz, MD, internist at the department of medicine at UC Davis Medical Center, and co-author of the Maternal & Child Nutrition study. But that’d just be an added bonus

MUST READ!!!ten best way a lady can keep a man

  1. 1
Keep him intrigued. If he likes what he knows so far, he'll make sure to come around more often to find out more. Don't be a completely open book, unless that's who you are naturally. Give the relationship time to simmer, and space out some of your revelations so that you still have the ability to surprise him.
    • Maintain a little bit of mystery. Don't tell him every little thing you're doing, every place you've been to, every person you've seen. Even if you didn't want to be a little mysterious, sharing every little detail about your past and your whereabouts is likely to be draining to a man.
Image titled Keep a Man Interested Step 1Bullet1
    • Keep some surprises up your sleeve. Being hunters, explorers, and daredevils, men naturally love surprises. If you schedule a surprise — going skydiving, for example, or a cruise — don't be afraid to just whisk him away and not tell him about it until he's right in the thick of it.

JAMB Cancels 59 ,698 Results , 62 ,140 Candidates To Retake UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has said 62,140 candidates will rewrite the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination after their centres were found to have engaged in malpractices.

JAMB Registrar, Prof Ishaq Oloyede, who disclosed this on Wednesday at a briefing, noted that a total of 59,698 UTME results were also cancelled by the board based on examination malpractices.
A breakdown of the cancelled results showed that 57,646 candidates wrote in centres, which were fraudulent; 1,386 candidates were caught cheating, while 666 candidates did multiple registrations.
It was learnt that only the first group of 57,646 would be allowed to rewrite the UTME. This group would be joined by 3,811 candidates, who did late registration and 683 who had biometric-related issues, to make a total of 62,140 candidates.
Oloyede said the board had slated Saturday, July 1, for the examination.

He said, “The board had a meeting with the 37 chief external examiners for the 2017 UTME and other major stakeholders, and arrived at the following decisions. One, we approved the cancellation (of the results) of 1,386 candidates found culpable of examination malpractices, and the results of 666 who did multiple registrations.
“We also cancelled the results of 57,646 candidates who were involved in malpractices across centres. Hence, we have rescheduled the UTME for those candidates and others who have biometric and other technical issues. We also approved Saturday, July 1, for the rescheduled examination. The board has, moreover, suspended 24 Computer-Based Test centres for one year due to technical issues. These centres would not participate in the 2018 UTME.”

The registrar noted that 48 centres had also been delisted from participating in the board’s examination in the future due to their engaging in organised examination malpractices.

“The meeting approved the commendation of JAMB staff and other agencies involved in the UTME for their integrity, particularly where monetary inducement was given to them by some CBT centres,” Oloyede added.

MUST SEE : The 6 Physical Features That Men Can ’ t Resist In Women

Love starts from being attracted to someone, no one falls for one’s nature at first glance they fall for the way one look.

As human being, we all have a different set of parameters that attracts us to the opposite s3x and it’s no news that men are attracted to looks, what they see in a lady which is the physical features of a lady.
“Men were designed to look for key features in women, these features make women attractive because they are associated with good health and fertility and when men notice these features, they are subconsciously thinking, she could have my babies, making them subconsciously, or very consciously, attracted to you”.
Below are some physical features that attract a man to a woman.
1. Lips
2. Bright Smiles: “This shouldn’t come as a surprise, not many men get attracted to a woman who has a grumpy face all day long, bright, heartfelt and genuine smiles instantly grab a man’s attention and also, the whiter the teeth in the smile are, the more attractive you get”.
3. Luscious hair: “Studies have proven that men fancy a woman with a long healthy mane, thick, shiny, smooth and well-maintained hair is something that can draw a man into you and also, healthy hair means a healthy you, and who wouldn’t want a healthy and fit partner?”.
4. Waist to hip ratio: “Men are subconsciously more attracted to women who have a slim waist and a well-shaped bottom, this is because big hips are an indication that she is going to be holding a baby better in her womb, it’s all about procreation in the end”.
5. Perky bosoms: “Let’s just say that perkiness is a symbol of youthfulness and freshness, not many men prefer a sagging bosom, at the same time no b00bs and a flat chest are a complete no-no”.
6. The natural look: “While you might think a man is going to be attracted towards you because of your skills to achieve the cat eye look perfectly, the fact remains that they don’t really care, they are more attracted to a makeup-less natural face because they don’t want any (nasty) surprise when the makeup is off”.

MUST SEE : The 5 Things From Davido ’s “ Fall” You Should Know If You Don ’t Already

In just one week of its release, Davido’s “Fall” directed by Dabs is already on repeat on fan’s playlist with over 2Million views on YouTube as fans enjoy the second single of the year from Omo Baba Olowo.o after listening to this song and watching the video, there are five things.

But after listening to this song and watching the video, there are five things I think you guys should know, especially if you did not notice these things when you watched/listened, then go back, listen/watch the video then tell us more that we should know, for now, here are the ones I think you should know about;

1. Repetition: Is it just this song or all of Davido’s releases, I’ll want you to tell us, but what I can tell you for a fact is that listening to this song, it was super easy to sing along because of the repetition. YES. Davido repeated a lot of lines in this song that we can bet might be less than a minute without the repetition. The word “FALL” is so much on repeat that you’ll want to ask Davido if the title is because of the repetition of the word or because he fell into a trance… truth is, I’m also still wondering.
2. Same beat with IF: Apparently Davido is obvious to the fact that “IF” was a hit because of the beat, and of course the lyrics which most people believe to have been written in Tekno’s style. Now while the lyrics of FALL produced by Kiddominant, you’ll agree it sounds a bit like what Davido would write, but we cannot take away the fact that the beat of “IF” has been repeated here again, maybe not totally, but when you tune off your mind to the lyrics of the song, “FALL” is more or less a part two of “IF”.
3. More mature Davido: Finally, I think the video is more mature than any of Davido’s videos. there’s a kind of class that comes with it that I haven’t seen in any video from OBO. The video is calm, not much going on, so it helps the viewers retain concentration on the idea behind the video. Although he still threw his wealth on our faces like a classic Davido would, but it’s not in that arrogant youthful way he does, reminding us of what he has(no offence). In this video, he still threw his wealth slightly where he tells his on-screen lover that she has money and media attention because of him, but it was a huge relief to not hear him dominate the song with material things and bank statement rather it was a video that shows a man who leaves his troubled home, go out to dream only to come back to meet the wahala he left at home, but in this case, a Rolls Royce.
4. Terrible Acting skills: For all Filmmakers considering Davido for a role in Nollywood, watch this video and consider no more. Davido from this video has shown us he cannot act to save his life… at least I think so from this show. One would think that at the beginning of the video there would be any reaction from him while his onscreen lover was yelling at him, but Davido was just lost in that scene… where he was, me I do not know, but a little reaction would’ve made it more realistic and when he sang the first line, it should’ve been directed at her, not the camera!
5. Keeping his sound distinctly African: The sound of Fall is another Afrobeat that will get you moving to the sound of the beat with each sound giving you that African traditional beat that if you listen well and put the sounds apart, it’s a mixture of so many cultures coming together to find harmony thereby producing that distinct African sound you won’t hear everywhere, except in “IF”. The first sound was the classic Igbo sound until he switched to IF’ beat, and that sound was maintained throughout, although in a subtle manner.

So for me, this is a beautiful song with different parts that communicate different emotions, but if you want to make up with your girl like Davido is trying to do with the imaginary lady, pick just the hook and serenade your apology to her… do not, I repeat DO NOT pick the first line, because I’m also looking for Davido to ask him why he is bragging about his wealth while apologizing to his girl… not working well in the same context, but what can we say? It’s OBO… Baddest!
